EXPLANATORY NOTE FOR GOVERNMENTS Concerning Reports on Ratified Conventions

The present Convention having been ratified by your country, your Government is required to report on its application.

This report should be made in accordance with the present report form, which has been approved by the Governing Body of the ILO.

It would be appreciated if the Government would prefix to each of its answers the number of the question in the form and the number of the Article of the Convention.

If this is your Government's first report following the entry into force of the Convention in your country, full information should be given on each of the provisions of the Convention and on each of the points set out in the report form.

If this is not a first report, information need normally be given in the report only on the following:

(a)

(b)

(c)

any new legislative or other measures affecting the application of the Convention;

replies to the questions in the report form on the practical application of the Convention (for example, statistics, results of inspection, judicial or administrative decisions);

replies to any observations or direct requests regarding the application of the Convention in your country which may have been addressed to your Government by the Committee of Experts (text attached) or the Conference Committee on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (text to be forwarded later).

In all cases your Government is required to communicate copies of its report to the representative organisations of employers and workers and to include in its report (a) the names of the organisations concerned, (b) a copy of any observations made by these organisations regarding the application of the Convention and (c) any comments your Government may wish to make on such observations.

If copies of the report have not been communicated to representative organisa- tions of employers and/or workers, or if they have been communicated to bodies other than such organisations, your Government is requested in accordance with a decision taken by the Governing Body in November 1972 to supply information on any particular circumstances existing in your country which explain the procedure followed.

Your Government is requested to forward to the Director-General of the ILO three copies of the report drawn up in accordance with the present report form, as well as two copies of any documents appended to it.
