the Committee should from time to time review progress and
the advisability of proceeding having regard to the security
situation.
On 3rd September 1976, having considered G.S.C. Paper 25/76,
the Committee advised and the Governor ordered, inter alia, that:
(a)
no new buildings in the Walled City should be allowed
to exceed the height limits imposed under the Hong
Kong Airport (Control of Obstructions) Ordinance;
consideration be given to the type and scale of the

problems of demolishing existing buildings which exceed

the height limits and the most appropriate way of dealing
with those which represent the greatest risk to aircraft; and
recommendations should be made to G.S.C. in due course
with as to what action should be taken.

Since September 1976, as a result of regular joint patrols
in the area by the B.0.0., Police and C.D.O. Kowloon City to warn
developers of the height limits they must observe, no new buildings
or extensions to existing buildings exceeding the limits have been
constructed within the Walled City.
