1.1. Visual approaches to Runway 31 will only be permitted:

(i) If the pilot reports that he has the runway or Tathong in sight, and the cloud

ceiling is not below the appropriate initial approach altitude, and

(ii) Provided no interference is caused to aircraft using the ILS and PAR.

2. RUNWAY 13

2.1. Visual approaches to Runway 13 will only be permitted:

(i) Provided this causes no interference to aircraft using the IGS or any

restrictions to departing traffic, and

(ii) The cloud ceiling is not less than 3500 ft and the visibility is not less than 9 km. 2.2. (i) Aircraft making visual approaches from the west along the IGS flight path

should ensure that they do not descend below the IGS glideslope profile. (ii) Aircraft should not descend below 1500 ft in the Aerodrome Traffic Zone until after passing due North of Green Island. NDB 'HKG' bears not less than 128°.

2.3. The procedures in para. 2.2. above are designed to provide separation from

traffic flying in non-instrument area Cheung Chau and from helicopter crossing. tracks over the Western Harbour. It also assists in reducing noise annoyance to the public. Under normal circumstances therefore, requests for cancella- tions of the altitude restrictions cannot be entertained.
