7 It was agreed that if the circumstances demanded, it might be desirable to make use of whatever pressure could be brought to bear from Government House, Mr Ashwood said that the Governor had already played a part in a recent contract awarded to a UK company. Mr Lippitt suggested that the Governor ought at least to be made aware of the importance which the Government attached to this contract given the current employment problems faced by the industry. Any action along these lines would however have to wait until decisions had been made by Ministers about the industry's future.
