Dear Sir,
9th February 1977
83 Fa Yuen Street, G/F, Kowloon
I refer to my letters (40) and (44) in this series dated 17th and 31st December 1976 respectively and to visits made to your premises by officers of this Department on 8th, 24th and 30th December 1976, 4th, 7th, 19th, 24th and 25th January 1977.
During these visits it was noticed that although the premises were undergoing extensive renovation the process is not yet complete and all the requirements of the Code of Standards have not yet been met.
The cages supplied for birds and animals are in general too small and too difficult to keep clean. I would strongly advise you to re-equip with new cages throughout and otherwise it may not be possible for you to comply with the Code of Standards.
I would also point out that the practice of throwing dead birds. on the floor at random should cease. It is a simple matter to provide your staff with bins in which to place dead birds and I want to see this implemented without delay.
I have to draw your attention yet again to my letters dated 17th and 31st December 1976 and to warn you that unless I am satisfied with all the points mentioned and that you comply with all conditions laid down in the Code of Standards it may not be possible to renew your licence for the year 1977. You have already been given a considerable grace period in which to improve your premises and it is evident to me that you are attempting to do this.
Shing Lee Hong,
83 Fa Yuen Street, Ground floor, Kowloon.
