John tern of EID (L) telephoned this morning to say that he had received word from Brussels that the proposed cuts to be imposed by the Community on ilong kong have been reduced. On knitted shirts from 11% to 7%, on pullovers from 14% to 6.7% and on shirts from 7.5% to 6.2%
2. Stern's initial reaction is that these reductions mean that the Hong Kong quota as it will appear in the mandate will be on average 6-7% below 1976 sendings and about the sume as the estimated final sendings for 1977.
