27%. The 7 items are :

cotton woven fabrics

synthetic woven fabrics

knit shirts and T-shirts

knit sweaters

woven shirts

woven blouses

woven trousers

The eighth item, cotton yarn, is of little

significance in terms of Hong Kong's trade

with the EEC and has been ignored for the

purposes of this Memorandum;

(b) the proposed term of the new agreement would

be four years from 1st January 1978. While

the overall growth rate from 1979 onwards

would be 6% per year, for these 7 items

the growth rate would range from 0.25% to

2% per year (see Footnote 1);

In the present agreement, the annual growth rates for the EEC as a whole

are 7% for the 2 fabric items and

2.5% for the 5 clothing items; those

for the UK are only 0.5% for 6 of

these items and 3.5% for the

remaining items, while for Germany,
