I enclose a copy
of the record of the meeting which we had in the FCO with the Hong Kong Textile delegation and for good measure I also enclose copies of the records of their meetings with Mr Meacher at the DOI and Mr Ridley at the DOT.

The general impression given by the delegation at these meetings was a good one. Although there was nothing new in what they had to say, the sober way in which they presented their case was welcomed. There was not, however, much debate at any of these meetings and most of the talking was done by Francis Tien who read from prepared statements.
