bilateral agreement with the EEC than before, we feel that

the time has come for the industry to make known directly

to H.M. Government our concern at the situation and to

suggest that the time has also come for our special relation-

ship to be given more regard then it has been in the recent

past in the formulation of the UK's textiles policy. We are

aware that the Hong Kong Government has already done much to

explain in detail to H.M. Government its views on the situation.

The industry would now like to seek first of all, clarification

by H.M.G. of its policy on the future of the MFA; and, secondly,

an assurance from H.M. Government that Hong Kong's interests

will not be overlooked and that policies will not be pursued
