As promised I am writing to let you have copies of press cuttings Di
generated by the recent visit to Hong Kong of Sir Peter Carey. The
size of our Information Section is such that we are only able to 1412.
monitor the more important newspapers there were at the last count 72 Chinese language dailies.
It is perhaps worth mentioning the obvious when I say that the majority of reports were concerned with Hong Kong, its industries and people. However, I am sure that Sir Peter's exposure to the media has considerably assisted our efforts to project Britain in a more favourable light. Without exception newspaper and radio editors to whom I have spoken were most impressed by what he had to say.
