6. The Crown Agents have shown they are willing to be helpful and appreciate the recd to avoid further i vestment ir South Africa. There would rot therefore seem to be any reasor take the question up at a high level. There is a case, however, for confirming in writing the undertaking which the Crown Agents have given us about providing advance notice of possible irvest-
ment.
Recommendation
7. I recommerd that the Linister of State takes ro further
action with regard to Crow Agents' purchasing of South Africar ̧ stocks on behalf of Deperdert Territories; but that a letter should be sent at official level to the Crown Agents seeking confirmation of their agreement to consult the FCO if and who
the questior should arise of their irvesting in South Africa stocks on behalf of beperdent Territories.
