A REPLACEMENT PATROL CRAFT FOR HONG KONG
1.
22 February 1977
The life of the modified 'Ton' Class patrol craft at present in service with the Hong Kong Patrol Craft Squadron cannot effec- tively be extended beyond 1982. In consequence, the Captain-in- Charge, Hong Kong has recently completed a study into the require- ments of a replacement vessel and produced an Outline Staff Target.
2. The attached paper establishes the need for a replacement patrol craft and recommends the characteristics required for it successfully to carry out its tasks. The paper has the agreement of the Hong Kong Government.
3.
It is requested that the Outline Staff Target for a replace- ment Hong Kong Patrol Craft be submitted to the Chiefs of Staff for their consideration and approval.
