1. Thank y for your letter DS8/39/22 (and enclosures) of 27 May about the closure of 117 Signals Unit in March 1978.
2. We in this department confirmed with the Hong Kong Government more than a year ago that they were aware of the Air Staff's decision that the RAF would continue to man no. 117 Signals Unit at Tai Mo Shan only until the end of March 1978. We can therefore agree to your proposal to notify the USAF formally of the intention to withdraw UK personnel at the end of next March.
