put down a question for oral answer on 2 March on the policy of Her Majesty's Government towards Hong Kong.
2. Mr Miller is a former member of the Hong Kong Civil Service he resigned from the Administrative Class in September 1968 - and a member of the Anglo/Chinese Parliamentary Group. Over the last two years he has asked a number of questions about Hong Kong, dealing with such matters as the enforcement of the death penalty, the provision of free secondary education and the composition of the
He takes administrative grades of the Hong Kong Government service. a particular interest in the advancement of the Chinese population in
Hong Kong.
3. The possibility that HMG's policy towards Hong Kong has suffered a change over the past year is a widely discussed question in Hong Kong at present. HMG has been accused of "intervening" in Hong Kong's affairs to their detriment. This may be what Mr Miller had in mind in putting down his Question.
