Fanling Swimming Pool
The item now in Category A of the Public Works Programme will provide the following facilities:

one 50 x 25 metre main pool;
(a)

one 50 x 21 metre secondary pool;
(c)
one 25 x 11 metre teaching/training pool;
(a) one paddling pool;
(e) one main building with spectators stand, changing
facilities and refreshment cafe.
Work will commence on the project in about April 1977 with the anticipated completion date being July 1978.
Yuen Long Swimming Pool

The item is currently in Category B of the Public Works Programme, but will be upgraded to Category A once the feasibility study has been completed and schedule of accommodation agreed. The schedule of accommodation is essentially the same as that for the Fanling Swimming Pool but with the following additions:
(a) 1 diving pool;
(b)
2 squash courts.
The estimated period of construction is 18 months.
