Governor the question raised in Mr Hurst's minute of
4 August (paragraph (iii)) regarding withdrawal of contrib- utions from the voluntary scheme. We should also ask that an early date be set for the extension of the voluntary scheme to provide for the payment of a pension on retirement.
3. It would be interesting to know how the consultations mentioned in paragraph 4 of Telno. 820 will be conducted.
I hope that it is intended that trade union organisations will be enabled to study the memorandum and have their views taken into consideration.
