When I wrote to you on 27 May about your review of social welfare I promised that I would let you have the minutes of the latest meeting of our Standing Committee. The meeting was held on 19 May but, owing to the Jubilee holiday, it has taken longer than usual to complete the minutes. I now enclose two copies of the final version.

As in the case of previous meetings of the Standing Committee, I am sending you the minutes for information only. We will be in touch with you, as necessary, about points arising from them.
