PRESENT POSITION
Further consideration to be given to the introduction of statutory minimum wages for low paid occupations
The introduction of limitations on the hours of work of adult males and of statutory provision for overtime rates
Application of ILO Conventions
Research is not expected to begin before 1978/79
No legal restrictions exist on the hours of work for men, and research on this, and on wage structures within various occupations is not expected before 1978/79. No statutory provision for overtime rates exists, although this too will be included in the research on wage structures
Of 69 Conventions applicable to Hong Kong the situation at January 1977 was as follows:-
