HONG KONG: STANDING COMMITTEE TO MONITOR THE PLANNING PAPER
1. I have just discussed with Mr Cortazzi the question of a date for the next meeting of the Committee. He has suggested 8 February and I should be grateful if you would consider this. I understand that there is a possibility of a clash with dates with the Department of Trade Textile Review consultations, for which Mr Jordan will be coming to London.
2. As far as the proposed agenda for the meeting is concerned, I agree with paragraph 7 of Mr David's minute. The only reservation I have is that under "any other business" I do not consider that we should widen the scope of the Standing Committee's remit to include matters which are outside the scope of the Planning Paper, e.g. Mr Madren and perhaps the drug problem.
