PROFESSOR TURNER'S STUDY OF LABOUR RELATIONS

--

I

I would refer to the replies that my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Seeretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs- gave to my hon. Friend the member for Liverpool, South-East Division on 5 May that Professor Turner's enquiries have reached an interim stage and I have asked him to complete his study, and that I cannot say whether Professor Turner's report will be placed in the Library until he has completed and submitted it.7

12.

THE DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH IN HONG KONG

It is the policy of Her Majesty's Government, shared by the Hong Kong Government, that there should be such progress towards the equitable distribution of wealth in Hong Kong as is consistent with Hong Kong's special circumstances.

13.

CORRUPTION IN HONG KONG

The Hong Kong Government is fully committed to the eradication of corruption. The Independent Commission Against Corruption, which was set up in 1974, has had considerable success in rooting out corruption and in mobilizing popular support for its work. The Commission should be given every opportunity to fulfil its important task.

14. DRUG ADDICTION IN HONG KONG

Hong Kong has a considerable problem in this field, but it is one which the Hong Kong Government are fighting hard and with some success. There is, for example, encouraging evidence that the proportion of Hong Kong's young people taking drugs has been decreasing, as a result of more effective law enforcement as well as better preventive education and publicity.
