I attach a copy of Mr McEntee's letter BH 133/77 (24) dated 17 June reporting that the appeal to the Court of Appeal in the case of The Queen v Leopold Jones was dismissed on 11 June 1977 and that McEntee was to take advice from his
Mercy Committee regarding the Prerogative of Mercy.

I also attach for your retention the documents forwarded by Mr McEntee regarding the Leofold Jones case, as it is normal for the geographical Departments to handle individual cases from their Territories.
