death by hanging is not commensurate with the crime and embraces the retributive clement of punishment exclusively.
Mr. Jones has no p.evious convictions nor criminal record of any kind and there is plenty of scope for his rehabilitation.
He may yet progress to overcome this tragedy and once again be a worthwhile citizen.
I therefore ask for clemency on behalf of Mr. Leopold Jones.
