With reference to your letter FAO 203/09 dated 14 October addressed to Mr Mallenson of our UN Department I should say that the procedure which we are familiar with when ODM Departments wish to notify Dependent Territories of forthcoming conferences is for the relevant ODM Department to draft the communication to Dependent Territories and then send it to this Section which then consults the relevant Dependent Territory Departments and returns the draft to ODM.

I would be grateful if you would agree to continue with the procedure as outlined above in respect of the FAO Conference in Rome.

I look forward to receiving a draft telegram to issue to Governors.
