DEPENDENT TERRITORIES
TERRITORIAL STUDIES
Mr Glason, at present on leave, has asked me to thank you for your comprehensive minute HX 025/501/1 of 21 March. As it seems that aid will be an integral, and in some cases substantial, part of these studies, and as many of the territories may
in the course of time become independent and pass to ODM for the aid aspects of our
relationship with them, it would be helpful if a copy of each completed study could be sent to us in Organisation Department for the record alongside our own Country Policy Papers. These would also give us background information against which we will be able to consider what further periodic studies of the aid apsects will be necessary once the special Territorial Studies programme has been completed. chides the TUVANN doufs discussed on 9 March (paon 16 lins 1/2 of the record refers)).
2.
On our own CPP programme, we are required to keep the Treasury informed of the number of papers completed in each calendar year; we would hope that we might include in the list those Territorial Studies which have been completed. This rather depends however on whether you send copies of those studies to the Treasury as they are completed presumably you do, but we would not wish to embarrass you if this is not the case. Could you let me know what the position is.
