NOTES ON DEPENDENT TERRITORIES

With your minute of 30 June addressed to Mr Milton of this Department you enclosed a copy of Mr Byatt's letter of 28 June in which he requested a revised version of notes on the Dependent Territories
for the use of those in UKMIS who will deal with the Committee of 24's
Sub Committee on Small Territories.
2.
I attach a copy of the classified note on the present
constitution and prospects for independence of the remaining Dependent
Territories which has been revised up to the end of last month. As
usual this Section has already circulated the note within FCO and to
UKMIS New York (see distribution list).
3.
We no longer produce an unclassified note, and I hope that
the present classified note will be satisfactory to Mr Byatt.
