Future Organization At Home
It was agreed that the solution proposed in Mr Stewart's paper of a merger of SWPD and PDTD after the Solomons and Tuvalu had become independent was probably the best solution. Further consideration would be given to this in the summer of 1978.
6. Under-Secretarial Responsibilities
It was agreed that there would be a need to retain an Under- Secretary supervising Dependent Territory Departments until 1980.

Appropriate Staffing for Dependent Territory Departments
It was agreed that Personnel Departments had carried out their commitments to post above-average staff to Dependent Territories Departments. The Deputy Chief Clerk promised to maintain this policy.
8.
Need for a Colonial Adviser
It was agreed that there was no need for a Dependent Territories' Adviser.
9.
Relations with the ODM
The PUS said that he would discuss with Mir Preston. Kr Stratton has drafted.
