INSPECTION: HONG KONG AND INDIAN OCEAN DEPARTMENT
The following recommendations have been approved:-
(i) Depending on the future structure and responsibilities
of the new Department (vide paragraph 1 of covering minute), the possibility of upgrading the DS5
Assistant's post to DS5"S" to be reviewed in 6 months' time.
(ii) Responsibility for the administration of Diego Garcia
to be transferred with the Seychelles desk (DS6 Mr Major) into EAD on 1 July.
(iii)
The DS7 (Mr Hinton), DS9 (Mr Hoare), and Miss Graham's S2 post to be abolished with effect from 1 July 1976.
(iv) The DS10/CO post responsible for Seychelles/BIOT work
in HKIOD registry to be abolished with effect from 1 July 1976.
(v) Part-time Paperkeeper post to be abolished.
(vi) Effective July 1, the two ODM posts (Mrs Johnson
HEO and Mrs Birch EO) return to the ODM this has been accepted by the ODM (their letter of 11 June).
