GIBRALTAR AND GENERAL DEPARTMENT
From 1 January 1977 the following changes will take place in this Department:

Mr C J HALL (K 273B) will cease to be a Head of Section and become an Adviser attending office three days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). He will require to keep his present accommodation
(K 273B) to perform his duties.
Mr F CARTER (K 272A) will move to ODM.
From January there will be a need for an additional office for the new post of a DS6 who will become Head of Administrative, Legal and Judicial Staffing Unit. We would like him to be accommodated in K 272A as he will then be close to other members of the Unit, typing services, and Head of Department. He will have to interview senior members of the Service and therefore will require an office of his own.
2. Will you please let me know if there is any difficulty in providing accommodation as set out in paragraph 1(a) and 1(c) above?
3. As you are aware the Inspectors have proposed that GGD's General Section (K 274) and the Administrative, Legal and Judicial Staffing Unit should merge with Hong Kong Department when GGD's Gibraltar Section merges with Southern European Department. The date of the move depends upon the outcome of a Submission which is at present being prepared in SED. However I understand that you are giving consideration to the accommodation of the Administrative, Legal and Staffing Unit when it (and General Section) eventually merge with Hong Kong Department.
