Dear Sir,
First of all, let me congratulate on your debut as Prime Minister in the House of Commons commencing April, 6th, 1976.
The policies you declared on television were also the wishes of the Majority. You called for a national effort to "uphold the values and standareds" and rebuild British prosperity and promised them a reforming Government which would renew social justice and freedom. You also stressed that the new Government's aim would be to drive on with the vital job of bringing down the rate of inflation. I am quite sure these policies are most welcome by all the British.
By the Way, I would like to ask whether you have received my letter of 22nd March, 1976, regarding the Request the Governor
regar Sir Murray MacLahose to stay on. Duplication enclosed for reference). I would be much grateful if you could spare your busy hour and send me a reply.
