Temporary asylum was granted to this group. The remaining 5 are still in the Fabella Centre awaiting clearance to be resettled in the USA

Group were granted temporary asylum and moved to Fabella Centre. Acceptance for 18 to France given on 21.5.76. Out of the remaining 47, 15 are eligible for the USA, 11 as immigrants, 2/3 if spon- sored by religious groups. Canadian Embassy started processing papers 6.6.76
US Embassy informed UNHCR Representative that all 17 appear to be eligible for the USA and urgent action would be taker Request made for temporary asylum at Fabella Centre as living conditions on boat unhygienic
