The last information we and the Home Office had about Vietnamese still in Hong Kong (apart from those on the AVA) is at Flag A (25). Unless you have more up-to-date information it would be useful to ask Hong Kong how many is left and what is their condition ie why they were unable to leave.

Thank you for raising the point in my minute of 21 July with the Home Office. As you will have gathered, I have since been in touch with Mr MacDowell in the Home Office with regard to Hong Kong's enquiry whether sympathetic consideration can be given to requests from Vietnamese refugees aboard the "Ava" for re-settlement in the UK. (FCO Tel No 584 of 28 July to Hong Kong refers.)
