Many thanks for your letter of 14 July.

I have now had an opportunity of talking with the Governor and I am taking up his suggestion of allowing three weeks for my visit. I intend to arrive in Hong Kong around 27 October and remain until 17 November,
I would like arrangements to be made for me to see the following during my visit: the Governor, Colonial Secretary, Financial Secretary, appropriate Departmental heads, eg Commerce and Industry, Labour Commissioner, Housing and the Political Adviser. You may care to note that when I saw Sir Murray MacLehose a fortnight ago he expressed a wish that we have a lengthier discussion than was possible then; no doubt this can be arranged during my stay. I would also see advantage in seeing the principal banks and some commercial organisations but not too many and no factories.
I can see some benefit in leaving a few days completely clear Qutan Rubedo towards the end of my visit. I hope this provides you with enough
information on which to plan. I will provide flight details etc later.
