VISIT TO HONG KONG ETC

Mr Hunter has already approved a visit by me to Hong Kong in November.
In the course of preparations for my visit contacts made at the Embassy in Peking (Mr E T Davies, Chargé d'Affairs) have said they would welcome a proposal that I return to London via Peking. They would intend to use my presence to open new doors to have economic discussions with The Bank of China etc. FED and HKD are in agreement.

I therefore seek formal authority to spend 2/3 days in Peking en route back from Hong Kong.
