Yet I am reluctant to be weaned from topics in which I have personally a long-term interest, eg education and health, and I would be glad if some discussion of these could be included in my programme. The first two are, I am aware, "Planning Paper" matters which are at present Tom's concern rather than mine, but I have spoken to him about a possible slight shuffle of work and he says he has no objection to giving me a look-in on the Paper via those subjects.

If you consider, as I think Derek did at the time, that pressure of business is forcing you to skate more lightly than you would wish over some parts of your own programme and that there are therefore gaps which I could plug, you might perhaps, as it were, add them to the mixture; (at any rate, I would, like you, be grateful for a couple of free days at the end of the programme to fill as I will).

5. These are my present thoughts. If you agree them and are content with the date which 1 have suggested for my visit, perhaps you could feed them (as amended) into the Protocol Section. am writing separately on the question of accommodation.
