1. Mr Clive Jenkins, General Secretary of the Association of Scientific Technical and Managerial Staffs, has told me that he will be leaving London for Hong Kong by Flight BA 844 on 11 November arriving in Hong Kong at 1155 hours on 12 November. He will stay at the Hong Kong Hotel and leave for Australia on 15 November.

2. He has asked to be put in touch with the Commissioner for Labour so that he can be briefed on the labour and social scene on arrival in Hong Kong. Could a telegram be sent asking Mr Price to contact Mr Jenkins on his arrival and provide the requested briefing. I think there would be advantages in asking Hong Kong if Mr Jenkins could be met at the airport and helped through customs and immigration.

3. Do you see any objection to my sending Mr Jenkins a copy of the Governor's speech to LegCo on 6 October?
