Please forgive so belated a letter my programme really did get on top of me at the end - to thank you for the time you took in briefing me and the very splendid meal you gave me when I was in Hong Kong. in Indian curry was a welcomed change from that of Chinese food and I hope I can return the favour when you are next home on leave:

I did try several times to contact you before my departure. Indeed I tried ringing you up on the evening of 16 November. But I was unlucky. I hope I will not be again when you next visit the UK.
