MY TRIP TO HONG KONG
1.
We spoke, and attached are:- your form A/cs Gen 8;
a
(c)
Tomil alación £81.30.
Byg
copies of letters from me to Mr Drace-Francis of 6 December, and Mr Drace-Francis' reply of 17 December; and
two copies of receipts I signed against money received from the British Trade Commission in Hong Kong.
2. I have converted thatHong Kong dollars to £s sterling at an exchange rate of HK$8 to the £1 (the current commercial rate for HKZ is: selling HK$7.9125, and buying HK$7.9425; and the note rate selling is HK$7.80, and buying HK8.25. The rate has changed recently and you may wish to use the BTC rate.)
3. The two BTC receipts: one is for the one-third subsistence
was staying with a colleague), the other is regarded as an advance only though my understanding is that I am entitled to the money by way of allowances for stop-overs en route and on return. (But whether I was entitled to it in HKS or Thai/ Indonesian money is for yout to decide. It may be that one of us owes the other a small sum.)
4.
With reference to my claim for the odd meal out, you will recall that I am not entitled to an entertainment allowance, having not yet served abroad.
