an extension of the present network of some 200 community, social and youth centres and games halls by, for example, including facilities in all new housing estates;
the completion of a programme to provide one swimming pool complex per 250,000 people each complex containing a sufficiently large number of pools to cater for up to 20,000 attendances in one day. Seven are already in operation; two more are under construction; and eight are at the planning stage;
the setting up of a District Recreation Service to organise
and maximise the use of facilities for recreation in urban and rural areas;
the opening up of wide areas of the unspoilt New Territories by establishing picnic sites, country parks, etc.
