How many of (a) are patrial?

(a) How many of (a) otherwise have the right of entry of

entry into the UK?

No exact figures are available.

According to a recent

estimate by the Hong Kong Government, the number of British passport holders with a right of entry into the UK is "not likely to be more than a few thousand". It is not possible to say how many of these persons are patrial or have a right of entry only. In practice, most persons having the right of entry into the UK have the right of abode. It is virtually certain that this is the case with persons in Hong Kong having the right of entry since these will be mainly expatriate British officials in the Hong Kong administration, British businessmen, etc.

(e) What is the approximate size of the Hong Kong community

in Britain?

According to the 1971 population census the total number of persons born in Hong Kong and living in the UK was 29,520 (17,010 males and 12,510 females). The Hong Kong Government Office in London might have a more up to date figure but it has been thourht better not to consult them.
