The Argyle site is indicated on the plan at Annex E. It is an island site bounded by Nathan Road/Mongkok Road/Sai Yeung Choi Street/Fire Street. The site was originally the Mongkok Police Station and was more recently used by the Fire Services Department. The site is not covered by any statutory plan, but on Departmental Plan LK 7/4B dated 7th April 1966 it is zoned Commercial/Residential. Unlike the General Post Office and Admiralty sites, this development site does not occupy the air space above a station, but lies immediately adjacent to Argyle Station. A ventilation shaft from Argyle Station is to be constructed within this site in such a manner that it will be capable of being incorporated into the design of the building eventually built on this site.
