RECEIVED IN REGISTRY No. 71

29 APR 1975

OPA 10

I thought you might like to know that we have finalised the arrangements for our having a Royal Hong Kong Police officer appointed to the staff of Interpol H.Q., and, by mutual agreement with the Secretary-General, we have nominated Mr. J. Morris as our representative. He was the No. 3 of our Narcotics Bureau. He will be arriving

in Paris on 23rd April, 1975 and it is the intention that he should be appointed to a staff job in the Drugs Division of Interpol H. Q., St. Cloud. He will be attached to the British Embassy in Paris,

I have told Morris that when he visits London at the first opportunity, he should call on you and present his compliments. He will call also on Colin Woods at New Scot- land Yard.

Naturally I am delighted that this appointment has come about; apart from having good public presentation value, I think it will have benefits for this Force, for Interpol and for Morris himself, on a professional basis.

Peter

We now have 3 officers appointed overseas Law in Bangkok, Ron Smith in the H. K. Government Office, London (largely on Personnel & Administration) and now Morris át Interpol H.Q.. I intend to move slowly but, in the years ahead, I will consider appointing attaches elsewhere, as the need arises.
