PARLIAMENTARY QUESTIONS:
1.
HONG KONG
Mr Kenneth Lewis MP (Conservative, Rutland and Stamford) has put down two Questions for written answer on 24 July, to ask the Secretary of State:
2.
(i) what steps are being taken to minimise cases of
silicosis in Hong Kong; and what compensation is available for those who contract the disease; (ii) if he will make a statement on the success or
otherwise of the steps taken to combat the drug traffic in Hong Kong.
We have consulted the Governor of Hong Kong about these two Questions. He has provided the information to enable us to reply to the first Question. On the second Question Hong Kong agree that there is nothing to add to the reply given to Mr Newens who asked a similar Question on 30 June.
3.
As far as we know Mr Lewis has not recently visited the Colony and he is not a member of the Anglo/Hong Kong Parliamentary Group.
4.
I submit draft replies.
