You will recall that last May (Paris telegram No 535) we asked the French if they would bear in mind the possibility of resettling refugees in New Caledonia and French Polynesia.
2. As you will see from the attached cutting from France Australe of 18 August, 22 refugees have arrived in Noumea (New Caledonia) from Guam.
