is a young lad coming from a large family with satisfactory background. There was no financial problem in the family though they were not well off. He had been deprived of mother love since boyhood. It might be that he had unsuccessfully resolved his personal grudge with the deceased which led to gang fight and killing of the deceased. It would seem apparent that he was not telling the truth at interview as he said he did not know the deceased before the incident. But from the information gathered from other sources he had known the deceased for some years and had a fight with him before. Apart from his untruthfulness, he was not the sort of person who was unaware of seriousness of joining gang-fight because he was reasonably clever and sound- minded. His unsteady character might lead to his own down-fall otherwise he should enjoy good relation at home and look forward to a future career of a police officer.
