1. On 19 November, 1974, I together with three others namely; NG Lee-kin @
FONG Lee-kin, KWOK Kee-cheung, FONG Chong-ming @ FONG Tung @ FONG Muk-tung was convicted in the Supreme Court of Hong Kong, upon a verdict of a Jury of six persons,
of the offence of murdering LAM Po alias LAM Sum-shui, and was for that offence sentenced to suffer death in the matter authorized by law.

That on 8 April, 1974, the appeal of your humble petitioner was dismissed and he is now a condemned prisoner awaiting to be executed for the offence of murder.
That your humble petitioner is seeking mercy from Your Excellency the Governor to save him from this punishment.
That your humble petitioner was born in Hong Kong in May 1951 and is single and now aged 24. He has lived in this Colony all his life with his family that is comprised of his father, mother, six sisters and three brothers, Your humble petitioner being the second eldest son. His education was terminated at the age of sixteen having reached primary six level, as a result of which he is not well educated; and in fact had to leave school as his family could not support him and he had to help support the family. After leaving school in 1967 at the age of sixteen, your humble petitioner worked permanently until the date of his arrest.
That your humbel petitioner strove to earn an honest living, and since 1967 and has worked as a delivery boy in a cafe then as a delivery boy for his elder brother who owned a lorry, receiving only pocket money, with the rest of the money due to him having been given by his brother direct to the family to help support it.
That your humble petitioner has no previous convictions and this is the first occasion on which he has been charged or convicted of any offence whatsoever.
That due to the impoverished circumstances and lack of education of your humble petitioner, found himself associating with and being influenced by persons of a criminal disposition and those who made a living by dishonest and unlawful means.
That inspite of becoming thus associated, your humble petitioner strove to earn an honest living and succeeded at doing this, by his efforts at the jobs set out in paragraph five herein.
That your humble petitioner became involved in this fatal incident by reason of his friendship with one FONG KAAİRS @RONG Tang @RONG dłudednungy who once helped your humble petitioner, On the day in question the said FONG Ghongoniang EXPONTIANGNG KPENGKETIN**ung rang your humble petitioner and told him his help is needed this time in return for the said FONG'slangemingx@xF£}£«Rung@ FONDKAUNIA previous favour, and he is requested to attend a fight.
