I consider the prosecution view to be probably

correct. The jury, in my view quite rightly, disbelieved the story of

NG Lee-kin.

This was obviously a carefully planned attack by an organised group, the object of which was to kill or at least seriously injure the fruit hawkers. It appears to have been organised and carried out with little or no regard to the inherent risk of injury to other persons who happened to be in the lane. I see no mitigating fastor. Should Your

Excellency take a merciful view I would suggest a sentence of life

imprisonment in the case of each accused.
