(2) An apprentice in construction work in Hung Hing

construction company in Shaukiwan, Hong Kong. was given $8 a day and he lived at the home of his instructor, Mr. CHENG Bor. After about 8 months he left the job as construction work was not available.

(3) Through the recommendation of the said instructor

Mr. CHENG he became an attendant at Ka Wah Store at Wing Hong House, Fok Loi New Village in Tsuen Wan, New Territories. He was given $100 a month with food and lodging, working from 5 a.m.` to midnight for about a month only. He left because he complained working hours were too long.

(4) After about one month, he became attendant at Golden

Gate Bakery Company Ltd., at Ho Pui Street, Tsuen Wan, New Territories for about $120 a month with food and lodging. He gave up the job after 5 months because he thought the job had no prospect.

(5) He then took up a job as usher at Sand's theatre in

Tsim Sha Tsui at a monthly wage of $180 with lodging and food. This lasted for about 3 months. He quitted his job because he had a grudge with his fellow workers.

(6) He then shifted to Rialto theatre for similar work where

he earned $240 a month with lodging. He worked for about 3 months when he quarrelled with one of the senior staff.

(7) Because of his bad relationship with the fellow workers from time to time, he made up his mind to become an apprentice cook for 1 Russian Restaurant in Tsim Sha Tsui. Although the salary amounted to $160 only, he was satisfied to learn a new trade. However, after he worked for about 1 year, he secured another job which he thought would give him a better future.

(8) He then worked at the Golden Carriage Restaurant in

North Point, Hong Kong where he could earn $300 a month.

(9) Later he was transferred to the main shop of Golden

Carriage Restaurant at Causeway Bay and his salary was increased to $400 with lodging provided. After he had worked there for about 2 years, he quitted his job because he had quarrelled with the senior staff. suspected of stealing money by the senior "staff of the restaurant. He denied he committed any theft there.

(10) During his unemployment for about 2 months, he put up

at the home of his friend, Mr. Bernard Ho, at 38A, Yee Woo Street, Yee Wah Building, 4/F., Kowloon. Then he worked as a sales representative for Wing On Insurance Company Ltd., when he could earn $300 as transportation fee.
