This Prisoner, appeared to have a long history of waywardness. He started with a little dishonesty at home, and then went on to being an unsteady worker and finally culminaged in a career of crime. The roots of his problem seemed to start from a dissatisfaction with reality and a desire for the worldly pleasures of life. His early unhappy experiences might have some influence in later development as a person. He was nevertheless suspected by some as a quiet yet crafty person (including his mother). His offence might be another way of asserting' himself, to compensate for lost manhood. He was aware of his wrongs. It remained to test his ability to accept reality and to lead modest living.
