That on the 2nd day of December 1974, the appeal of your humble petitioner
was dismissed, and he is now a condemned prisoner waiting to be executed for
the offence of murder.
That your humble petitioner is seeking for mercy from Your Excellency the
Governor to. save him from this punishment.
3. That your humble petitioner is aged 25 years, having been born

in Hong Kong,
and received six years primary education, being compelled to give up any
further studies because of the financial situation of his family, and has
worked since the age of 13 years to support himself and his family.
That your humble petitioner is married and has two sons aged 3 and 2 years
respectively.
That in spite of the constant financial difficulties facing your humble
petitioner and his family, he has always sought to lead an honest and
industrious life, and has had employment as a plastics worker, a polisher,
a woodworker and as a casual labourer with a transport company, and that
prior to his arrest on this matter he was earning about $500 per month.
6. That your humble petitioner regrettably allowed himself to become involved
in the events leading up to this fatal incident, and in particular the theft
from the Chartered Bank, Cheong Wah Street, Kowloon on 14th August, 1973, as
a result of the financial pressures caused by his responsibilities to his
family, and his desire to provide well for his wife and children.
7. That your humble petitioner knew that arms were carried by those with him, and
he carried a gun himself, but never intended that harm should come to any person,
or that violence should be used, and that when the fatal shot was fired at the
P.D. 21 (7/72)
