Outside the bank a Securicor car was parked. One of the

robbers pointed a revolver at the occupants and ordered them out of

the vehicle.

recovered from it. He also saw that one of the men was carrying a

plastic bag.

A police car travelling in the vicinity saw the collision

and gave chase, with siren sounding, to the men running up Tonkin Street.

The driver identified the No. 4 as one of the men. After travelling

a short distance the police driver saw two of the mon draw guns and point

them at the police vehicle. He stopped the car and he and his companions

crouched down. None of the police party heard a shot, but the bus driver

heard a bang but could not say if it was a gun shot. A little later the

police party alighted.

After alighting the police criver saw the group-ruming ahead
